This is an announcement of parking and traffic changes that will take
place Saturday, Aug 30 and on Sunday, Aug 31 when we have our first home
football game. Please review this carefully since there are changes from
previous years.
On the Saturday before the game, the following lots and roads will be
restricted to no parking after 5:00 pm and ALL vehicles must be removed
from these lots and roads by 10 pm Saturday or be subject to towing:
- Litton-Reaves/Wallace Lots (located off Washington St and Duck Pond
Dr)
- Coliseum Lot (located off Washington St and Spring Rd)
- The gravel Lot located behind the Jamerson Center
- Stadium Lot
- Track/Field House Lot (on Spring Rd)
- Tennis Court Lot (on Washington St beside the Coliseum)
- Vet Medicine Lot (north-side only)
- Health and Safety Lot (located off Tech Center Dr)
- Maintenance Lot (located off Southgate Dr)

- Shultz Lot (except for the small interior lot next to Turner St
which F/S may use)

- Wright House Lot
- Derring Lot (large section that's parallel to Perry St)
- Food Science Lot

Kent Street)
All resident students must vacate Stadium Lot and should park in one of
the following areas:
- Resident Section of Duck Pond Road Lot (the Cage)
- Prices Fork Lots (large commuter lots next to Prices Fork Road)
- Perry Street Lots (large lots next to Perry Street)
ALL vehicles must be removed from these lots & roads by 10 pm on
Saturday or be subject to towing. If you have an event planned for
Saturday evening that involves one of these lots, please contact Parking
Services so we can accommodate your needs.
Two hours before the game starts on Sunday (at 3 pm), traffic on
Washington St, Southgate Dr, and Spring Rd will become one way toward the
football stadium. Traffic on Duck Pond Dr will also become one way toward
the stadium from Southgate Dr to Washington St. After the game the streets
directions will reverse until the traffic flow returns to normal.
The public will be charged $5 for parking on campus during all other
football games. This only applies to folks who do NOT have a valid VT
parking permit (if you display a permit there's no charge). The lots used
by the public are Prices Fork Road Lots and Perry Street Lots (large
commuter lots next to Prices Fork Road and Perry Street).
Public RVs must park in the Duck Pond Lot and will be charged $15.
The Blacksburg Transit will run buses on all normal routes for the
weekend and will add additional buses as needed. All home game days will
be fare-free for BT. Another option this year is off-campus public parking
at four locations in the town of Blacksburg. BT football shuttles will run
to the stadium starting three hours before game time from the parking lot
by Blacksburg High School, Harding Avenue Elementary School and from the
new Blacksburg Middle School at 15 minute intervals. They will continue to
run for two hours after the game. Public parking will also be available at
the old Blacksburg Middle School and Gilbert Linkous Elementary School for
patrons to walk or ride the regular BT routes to the stadium. There is a
$5 charge for parking in these community lots. There is also an Airport
Shuttle for patron of the VT/Montgomery Exec Airport running to the
stadium starting three hours before until two hours after the game.
Handicap parking will be available in the Upper Stanger Lot (located
across Stanger Street from Durham Hall). Signs will be posted for guidance
to this area. Handicap shuttles will transport persons from this lot to
the stadium before, during, and after the game.
Please mark your calendars with the following football game dates
during which parking and traffic will be impacted: Sep 6 (Saturday), Sep
18 (Thursday), Sep 27 (Saturday), Oct 11 (Saturday), Nov 1 (Saturday), and
Nov 22 (Saturday). If you have any questions concerning this information,
